five talents … two talents … one talent

In the Gospels Matthew and Luke, there is a parable (a story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson) regarding a “man of wealth and power” who puts his house workers in charge of his goods while he is away on a trip. When he returns, the man evaluates the stewardship of his workers. He judges them according to how faithful each was in making wise investments of his goods to obtain a profit. A gain indicated faithfulness on the part of the workers. The man rewards according to how each worker handled their stewardship. He assessed two workers as having been "faithful" and gives them a positive reward. To the single unfaithful worker, who "played it safe", a negative compensation is given. (Check out the entire Chapters, Matthew 25, Luke 19)

How many times, have I “played it safe”? Afraid of offending someone with my faith in Jesus Christ. Afraid of being uncomfortable with someone of differing views. Afraid, of getting into a meaningful conversation and then going completely blank with facts and information backing my beliefs. As I’ve prayed over this website and how to move forward with “my talents”. I want God all up in my business, But, let’s get real, there are a million of these “fitness sites” available. So, my question to God was, how does all this fit into your master plan? How can this site be set apart and different from other fitness sites and apps. So that when people come to this site, they could be transformed, not only physically with workouts and nutrition, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Originally I was going to “play it safe”, not wanting anyone to feel alienated. Which is what I’ve done for the past 4 years, training people and meal prepping for clients. It was small, it was doable/comfortable.. safe. I basically “took the talents God gave me, “was afraid and went out and hid your gold (i.e talent) in the ground, so nothing negative would happen to it”. Instead of taking the talents God has entrusted me with and gaining more for the Kingdom of Christ.

After countless prayers and God divine moments, I was reminded this website is not about me. It was simply created through me as a way to encourage, connect, and share. I’m simply here to love you! How amazing that through fitness I can share the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ, how could anyone feel "alienated" by God's grace. At the end of my life I will stand before Jesus and I am more afraid of offending Him, than anyone I come into contact with here on earth. And, I desperately want to hear Him say, “well done, my faithful servant.”

So, Here’s how this “Truths” page will work in 2021:

● First week of the month will be a spiritual truth to encourage us in our fitness.

● Second week will be a spiritual truth to encourage us in our nutrition.

● Third week will be a spiritual truth to encourage us in our Families.

● Fourth week will be a guest writer.

As we begin this journey together, I pray we will be open to God breathed biblical truths, we will be open to stepping out of our comfort zones with our fitness, we will be open to creating change in our nutrition, so that we can become stronger for our daily tasks with more energy for our loved ones. We can always become better versions of ourselves. Because ultimately there is a reason you are here on this earth at this moment in time. We each have specific talents, whether it's many or few doesn't really matter. What matters is, are you hiding them away or investing and growing those talents. Let us live with a passion for others, loving people, and focusing on things that really matter. And, yes, I think your health really matters.

“Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” Matthew 25:23
