LOVE Never Fails

This month is the perfect time to focus on LOVE... Who have big plans and who roles their eyes at this "commercialized holiday". I refuse to be in the camp of believers that Valentine's Day is a "Hallmark - holiday". Well... Ok, it probably is, but that's ok... because I love Hallmark movies. I am a ridiculous romantic and I love cooking, setting the table with a beautiful flower arrangement, writing a love letter to Aaron, and getting heart shaped boxes of chocolates for the kids. It's a fun blessed day in our home. But I know many who dread the day. Broken relationships, loss of loved ones, deep hurts and sadness that weighs deeply on their hearts. So, this "Truth"is not a chocolate covered strawberry, red hearts and xoxo message.

I want to share with you about a LOVE that is to be celebrated every day of the year, not just a specialized day in February. This LOVE is patient, kind, is all encompassing, life changing, is not jealous, is not proud, not self seeking, doesn't judge nor does it keep records of wrongs, does not delight in evil, but rather rejoices in truth, it protects. A love that trusts and hopes and preservers, and never fails (1 Corinthians 13). In our core, we were created, for this kind of love. And, this kind of love is available to you. Not a romantic love, but Agape love. The Fatherly love from God for all of humanity. And the reciprocal love for God. A deep unconditional love, that does not disappoint. This transcendent love is the highest form of love. Which is why it is so difficult to wrap my brain around the full depth of Agape. And, it is equally difficult for me to understand, why we struggle to accept this gift of love. Instead of sharing my opinion, I will share truth and allow you to seek and research for yourself.

John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."

1 John 4:8-10 "The person who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, because God is love. God has shown us his love by sending his only Son into the world so that we could have life through him. This is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the payment for our sins."

Romans 8:37-39 "In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

1 John 4:19 "We love because He first loved us."

May you experience this kind of Agape love, this Valentine’s Day and every day.

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:13
